When It Comes to Help With Your Rescue - Just Ask and You Might Receive

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Your team at Rescue Catalysts recently took over the long-term care of a 9 year old and counting TNR cat colony in Nashville, Tennessee. Upon learning about our newly acquired responsibility to these four felines many friends and colleagues in the rescue community suggested that we ask local stores and pet supply shops if they had near expiring food or dented cans that they could donate to our cause.

We asked and received at PetSmart Hermitage in 2025.

So, on Sunday, August 24, 2025 we took a drive over to PetSmart near Andrew Jackson's old stomping grounds to see if we could put that advice into action. Sure enough, the store manager there heard our plea and saying - "You're doing God's work" - soon appeared with three soon expiring bags of high-quality kibble for our fearsome foursome who depend mostly on the kindness of strangers for their daily sustenance.

Our cat colony were very thankful for the tasty food.

So, the moral of the story is - don't be afraid to ask. Good hearted strangers and even corporate entities are likely to step up and help your situation out if you make a quality case for the cats in your care. At Rescue Catalysts we believe that all things are possible - so we will keep asking for help as the number of animals we nurture continues to grow. Please jump over to our ABOUT SECTION to see how you can further our ongoing mission in the Music City region.

Thank you, PetSmart for the generous donation to our cat colony.
