Abram Engle - Video Launched a Cat Rescue Star
When you work in the cat care community there is a good chance you watch a lot of related animal rescue videos on YouTube. I know we do!
Rescue Catalysts co-founder Rockin' Rich Lynch meets Abram Engle in 2023. One of our favorites for the past few years features the adorable orange tabby named "Kurt the Cat" and his likable owner Abram Engle. After watching many hours of Kurt's antics something became clear and obvious to us. Abram - and Kurt - were fellow Nashvillians. That is - as geographical landmarks became featured in their productions - we realized that cute cat and his very capable videographer lived in the Mid-Tenn region. Not long after this discovery Abram announced a meet and greet at The Catio Cat Cafe located near the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville so we took the opportunity to introduce ourselves and express our appreciation of his work in raising awareness for the cat rescue community. Then, in March 2025 your team at Rescue Catalysts rediscovered another organization doing great work out of Wilson County at their True Rescue facility located in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Upon arrival we asked True Rescue's director if she had ever heard of Abram and Kurt with their millions of enthusiastic followers across several social media platforms. When we were told that they hadn't yet heard of the dynamic duo – we made the introduction – and next Abram was visiting the facility with the promise that soon he would finally be adopting Kurt's new sibling from the organization. Sure enough, in June videos started appearing on Abram's channel that his family had added a new member. The very cute and rumbunctious Gary was introduced as Kurt's brother and would soon join the established feline as a true cat video star helping to push their already substantial subscriber base through the stratosphere. In addition to being Kurt - and now Gary's cat daddy - Abram Engle is an amazing supporter of many of the local cat rescue facilities in Mid-Tennessee and he injects a lot of positive, youthful energy into the cause that for him has become a full time online career as a social media influencer. THE TAKE-AWAY? Your cat rescue can benefit from local celebrities and animal loving social media influencers wherever you are located - even if they don't live in your town or state. Perhaps, they are passing through on a tour or media blitz. You can work with a variety of unique individuals in your own backyard to elevate the profile of your own cat rescue while increasing awareness and funds for your endeavor. Remember - just be creative and don't be afraid to ask for help!
